Arniston Bay Shiraz-Merlot 2005 - $9.95
Style: R1
South Africa
The inky black cherry robe suggests more substance than the price would suggest. The nose is a complex mix of spice, blackberry, dark chocolate, sour cherry, and pepper. In the background there is a hint of pinotage. The palate shows rich cherry and strawberry, somewhat sweetish on the uptake, with a good acidic spine and fine tannins. Fairly light but very tasty and bargain priced. (LCBO 43927)

This wine was a real bargain. Great colour, nose and flavours. There is a typical background to the nose that seems to run through many South African Wines.
